The Art of Reinvention: Burn It Down, Build It Better
If there’s one thing I’ve learned in this industry, it’s this: waiting gets you nowhere. No one’s going to hand you your moment—you have to create it. Sometimes that means tearing down what’s not working and rebuilding from scratch.
For a couple of years, I felt like I was running in place. No traction. No momentum. Just waiting for the “right” opportunity to come along. Then I realized: if no one was going to give me a break, I’d make my own.
So I did.
I produced two projects that weren’t just roles—they were statements. Parallel Partners is an intimate sci-fi character study that allowed me to push emotional depth and tap into my nerdy side in a way I’d never had the opportunity to before. Bounty Hunters is an emotionally brutal, high-stakes short—exactly the kind of cinema I shine in but rarely get the chance to perform.
I wasn’t just acting—I was building. Creating cinema that’s on-brand for me, that puts me in the kind of stories I should be telling.
And that choice? It changed everything.
This past year, I refined my brand, Worked with Coaches, took bigger risks, and landed major wins. I launched this new website recently, signed with a new agency, and put myself in rooms that matter. I stopped waiting for the industry to see me and made sure they couldn’t ignore me.
Some people fear reinvention—I run straight into it. Because every time I burn it down and build it better, I get closer to the stories I’m meant to tell, the people I’m meant to work with, and the career I’m crafting on my own terms.
And this? I think This is just the beginning. Let’s see what we set ablaze next.
